Spokey Dokey Badge Club Admissions Policy

1. Introduction
The Spokey Dokey Badge Club is committed to providing an inclusive, safe, and enjoyable summer experience for disabled children. Our aim is to ensure that each child has the opportunity to participate in our activities and earn badges while fostering a supportive community. This Admissions Policy outlines our criteria and process for admitting children to our summer club.
2. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to the Spokey Dokey Badge Club, children must meet the following criteria:
Age: Children must be between the ages of 11 and 15 years old.
Residency: Priority will be given to children residing in York and the surrounding areas.
Disability: The club is designed for children with disabilities. Parents/guardians must provide relevant information about their child's needs to ensure we can offer appropriate support.
3. Application Process
Parents/guardians wishing to enroll their child in the Spokey Dokey Badge Club must complete the following steps:
Submit an Application: Complete the online application form available on our website. Provide detailed information about the child's needs, preferences, and any special provisions required.
Documentation: You may need to provide any relevant documentation, such as medical reports, Education, Care and Health Plans (EHCP), or other pertinent information that will help us understand and support the child's needs.
Application Review: Our admissions team will review all applications on a case-by-case basis, considering the information provided and the overall cohort of applicants.
4. Admission Decisions
Admission to the Spokey Dokey Badge Club will be based on the following factors:
Cohort Composition: We aim to create a balanced group of children that allows us to provide the best possible support and interaction. This includes considering the ages, disabilities, and specific needs of each applicant.
Staffing and Resources: Our ability to accommodate each child’s needs will depend on the availability of trained staff and appropriate resources.

Waitlist: In cases where we cannot accommodate all eligible applicants, we will maintain a waitlist and notify parents/guardians if a spot becomes available.
